Brief biosketch

Roberto Baragona got his Degree in Mathematics in 1972 from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. He’s taught, around several years, Statistical Decision Theory, Time Series Analysis and Data Analysis at Sapienza University and the University of Trieste, Italy. He’s at present Full Professor of Official Statistics and Data Analysis for Science and Biomedical Communication at Sapienza University and he's a member of the teaching staff of the PhD on Social Theory and Research, Rome, Italy. 

He’s with Department of Communication and Social Research, Rome (Italy) and with CATTID Research Centre of Sapienza University of Rome on research and application of E-Learning technology. He’s responsible of the Bilateral Agreement between Sapienza and Jadavpur University, Kolkata (India) together with Professor Ujjwal Maulik.   

He’s author or coauthor of a book and more than 50 papers published on international journals in fields such as Multivariate Statistics, Time Series Analysis, Soft Computing and Living Technologies methods. He has acted as a referee for several international journals and he’s Associate Editor of Statistical Methods and Applications.  

He’s been Visiting Professor for the purpose of collaborative research work to Department of Statistics and Computational Mathematics, Liverpool University (United Kingdom), Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and New Delhi (India), Department of Computer Sciences and Engineering, Jadavpur University (India), European Centre for Living Technologies, Venice (Italy), Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Canterbury University (New Zealand).  

He's a member of the Italian Statistical Society, and of its Sections ANSET (Workgroup for Time Series Analysis) and CLADAG (Classification and Data Analysis Group). He’s a member of ERCIM (European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics) in Optimization Heuristic in Estimation and Modelling.
