Boris Mirkin

Short BIO

Boris Mirkin holds a position of Professor in the Division of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Higher School of Economics, Moscow, RF. Also, he is Emeritus Professor of Computer Science in the School of Business, Economics, and Informatics, Birkbeck University of London, UK.  He is interested in mathematical models and computational algorithms for clustering data in such applications as genomics, sociology, and text analysis. He published a hundred of refereed papers and several books on these;  his latest are monograph "Clustering in data mining: A data recovery approach" (2005) and textbook "Core Concepts in Data Analysis: Correlation, Summarization, Visualization" (2011).
